Medical Technology
The Medical Technology Option encompasses the clinical areas of Microbiology,
Immunology, Hematology, Immunohematology, Chemistry, Molecular Pathology, Body Fluid
Analysis, and Laboratory Management. Medical Technologists are healthcare detectives,
providing vital laboratory analyses on blood, body fluids, and tissues using sophisticated
techniques and biomedical instrumentation. These analyses are critical to detect cancer,
determine infectious agents, diagnose diseases, and monitor therapeutic and abused drugs.
When you choose the Medical Technology option, you would provide the essential testing
to diagnose, monitor, and treat patients as well as develop test procedures, assure quality
performance, and conduct research.
