About:

Susan Raab is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Sciences. Her primary interest is expanding opportunities for UWSP students to complete programs in health care professions.

Susan Raab has both clinical and university teaching experience and has won the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point’s “Excellence in Teaching Award.” Her interest in professional organizations has been keen, and she has held numerous offices at the local, state, and national level.

About:

Daniel McCarty joined the faculty of Health Sciences in Fall 2007. He is an epidemiologist with wide research interests including obesity and diabetes prevention. Following his doctorial training at the University of Pittsburgh, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the International Diabetes Institute in Melbourne in Australia and was a research scientist at the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation.

About:

Carole Paulson teaches undergraduate courses in the Health Science major she helped to design several years ago. She has a nursing background that includes clinical experience in neonatal intensive care, pediatrics, and adult health. As a clinical nurse specialist, she has designed clinical policy and procedures dealing with patient safety and medical errors, and has worked collaboratively with interdisciplinary health care providers in developing clinical protocols and staff education.

She has been involved in academic nursing and health sciences education in the technical college and university system for many years, both designing curriculum and teaching classroom and clinical courses in a number of areas. She continues to design curriculum within the major and for other proposed department majors and consult on health-related issues within the university.

About:

Sue worked in business for 24 years as an account executive and graphic designer for direct mail sales literature. In addition, she worked in both a physician’s office clinic and “at the bench” in a hospital setting prior to coming to the university as a member of the Health Science faculty. She is an active member of ASCLS-WI, serving as a board member and past President for the local chapter and as Wisconsin’s State Membership Chair since 2003.
