The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is a leader in the education of Clinical Laboratory Scientists.  Through the integration of biology, chemistry, and medicine, Clinical Laboratory Science professionals provide the information necessary for maintaining health and for diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases.  They may be employed in hospitals, clinics, public health laboratories, epidemiology, research, industry, or forensic laboratories.

The Clinical Laboratory Science baccalaureate program prepares students for rewarding careers in the health field.  Three options are offered in the program:

• Medical Technology - performs lab tests used in preventing, diagnosing, and monitoring diseases.
• Cytotechnology - examines tissues and fluids microscopically to distinguish cancerous cells from normal cells.
• Histotechnology - examines organs and tissues of the body.
