Whether as a player, assistant coach or head coach, winning seems to follow Ann Ninnemann in any role. Ninnemann displayed those talents once again in 2006-07 after leading the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team to a third place national finish in her first season as head coach.

Ninnemann will begin her second season in 2007-08 after leading the Pointers to a 20-7-2 record and a fourth straight Northern Collegiate Hockey Association tournament title in her inaugural year. Ninnemann led the Pointers to dramatic overtime victories in both NCHA playoff games and a win over Gustavus Adolphus in the NCAA quarterfinals before eventually winning another overtime game over Amherst (Mass.) in the national third place game.

The national success was nothing new for Ninnemann, who experienced plenty as both a player and assistant coach. In fact, she is the only person ever to both play and coach in a Division III frozen four. She also was an assistant coach in the frozen four and became just the third female head coach ever to lead a team to the national semifinals.

Ninnemann was UW-Stevens Point's first All-American player in 2001-02 and captained the Pointers for three straight seasons from 2002-05. She totaled 55 goals and a school-record 69 assists for 124 points, ranking second in school history goals and points. Ninnemann was named to the all-tournament team in 2004 when she led the Pointers to a national runner-up finish. She also assisted former UW-Stevens Point head coach and current North Dakota head coach Brian Idalski for one season with the Pointers in 2005-06, resulting in a third place national finish.

In addition to Ninnemann's hockey success, she also conveyed her winning ways as an assistant coach with the UW-Stevens Point softball team. In her first season on the diamond, Ninnemann helped the Pointers to one of their best seasons in school history with a 33-10 overall record and NCAA Division III tournament appearance. In 2006, Ninnemann assisted with the Stevens Point Area Senior High softball team that finished 23-1 and qualified for the WIAA state tournament.

Ninnemann, a Rosemount, Minn. native, has worked numerous camps, including USA Hockey camps in Lake Placid, N.Y. and UW-Stevens Point hockey schools.
