Fred Hebert is an associate professor of health education
and the Associate Dean of the
School
of Health,
Exercise Science and Athletics.
His teaching includes specialization in sexuality
education and teaching methods.
Fred’s duties as Associate Dean involve: oversight of
the seven academic programs, regarding accreditation,
program review, assessment, advising and future programmatic
directions; operation, staffing and maintenance of the
Health
Enhancement
Center; and, administrative
responsibility for hiring, evaluation, retention and
promotion of all HESA staff.
He has been working as the Associate Dean since 1997
and is proud of our past and excited for our future.
Fred attended UW-LaCrosse for his
undergraduate degree, receiving teaching certifications in
physical education and health education.
He taught in the Whitehall Public School System for
ten years, teaching physical education and health education,
while coaching football, baseball and track and field.
He moved to Stevens Point in 1985 for a teaching position
in health education and to coach football.
Prior to obtaining his Ph.D. in Educational
Administration from UW-Madison, Fred coached football (11
years) and baseball (2 years) at UW-Stevens Point.
Fred enjoys golf, gardening, camping,
hiking, kayaking, biking and watching all sports.
He is married to Carol and they are the proud parents
of two daughters: Katie a middle school science educator in
Verona, Wisconsin and Abby a 4th grade teacher in Littleton,
Colorado.
