Megan Craig
Assistant Track & Field/Cross Country Coach Megan Craig begins her second stint as a assistant coach for the Pointers in 2009, the last coming in the Indoor/Outdoor season of 2007. Craig brings experience both as an athlete and a coach to the Pointers this season. Craig ran for the Pointers cross country and track teams from 2002-2006, gaining many accolades along the way. She was a seven time All-American, won freshman athlete of the year, and currently holds UWSP records in the 1500m, 4x800m relay, and the distance medley relay. She was three time All WIAC selection in cross country and led her team to a third place finish at nationals in '03. In track, Craig was a four time indoor and outdoor national qualifier. She was also a six time All-American in three different events from '03-'05. Craig graduated from UWSP in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health Education. From there, she obtained a masters degree in Kinesiology and Sports Administration from Eastern Illinois University where she served as a graduate assistant coach with the track and cross country teams. As an assistant coach, she helped EIU to its strongest recruiting class in five seasons and helped the Panthers to indoor and outdoor conference championships in 2009 and coached three NCAA Division I National qualifiers. A native of Bangor, Wisconsin, Craig resides in Stevens Point. |
