Dr James M Banovetz MD PhD
Dr. Banovetz is a board certified
orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He earned
an A.B. in mathematics at Washington University, St. Louis.
He then attended Northwestern University where he obtained
an M.D. and a Ph.D. in motor control neurophysiology. He
completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University
of Missouri-Columbia and a sports medicine fellowship at the
University of Iowa, where he was a Hawkeye team physician.
He is a member of the American Medical
Association, Wisconsin State Medical Society, and is a
candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons.

Dr. Daniel R. Kraeger, DO, ATC top
Dr. Kraeger is a board certified family
physician with specialized training in sports medicine. He
graduated with a degree in Health Education and Athletic
Training from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 1983.
He served as the assistant athletic trainer for the Chicago
White Sox through the 1979 and 1980 seasons. He graduated
from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health
Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa in 1987, and completed his
family residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. he also
completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Hughston
Sports Medicine Center in Columbus, Georgia.
Dr. Kraeger is a charter member of the
American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, a Fellow of
the American College of Sports Medicine, a member of the
American Academy of Family Physicians, and the National
Athletic Trainers Association. He volunteers his time as a
team physician at UWSP and the local high schools.

Dr. James H. DeWeerd, Jr, MD top
Dr. DeWeerd is a board certified
orthopedic surgeon with over 20 years of experience. He
graduated from Macalester College, and from Bowman Gray
School of Medicine in 1972. He completed an internship and
residency in orthopedics at the Mayo Clinic and served two
years in the U.S. Navy before coming to Stevens Point in
1978. His medical interests include arthroscopic surgery,
sports medicine, adult reconstructive and trauma surgery,
and surgery of the lumbar spine.
Dr. DeWeerd is a member of the American
Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Arthoscopic
Association of North America. He is a Fellow of the American
College of Surgeons, and a member of various state and
national medical organizations, and actively drills as a
member of the U.S. Navy Reserve. For many years, he has
volunteered as team physician for local schools.
Although retired, Dr. DeWeerd continues to donate his time
for UWSP Athletics and the Athletic Training Education
Program.

Dr. Todd M. Williams, MD top
Dr. Williams is a board certified orthopedic
surgeon. Originally from Brookfield, Wisconsin, he attended
UW-Madison, were he competed in men's crew and earned a
bachelor's degree in 1989. He received his MD degree from
Madison in 1993, and then completed an orthopedic surgery
residency at the University of Iowa in 1998. He went on to
do an orthopedic trauma fellowship in New Zealand. Dr.
Williams joined the Rice Medical Center in 1999.
He is a member of the American Medical
Association, the Wisconsin State Medical Society, and a
candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons.

Dr. David M. Henneghan, MD top
Dr. Henneghan is a board certified
orthopedic surgeon. He graduated from Albion College and
Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 1984.
His internship was completed at St. Mary's Hospital, Grand
Rapids, Michigan, and he completed his orthopedic training
in the Grand Rapids Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program in
1990.
Dr. Henneghan's interests include
arthroscopic surgery, orthopedic reconstructive surgery,
joint replacement, and sports medicine. He is a member of
the American Medical Association, Wisconsin State Medical
Society, and is a fellow member of the American Academy of
Orthopedic Surgeons.

James Lepak, PA top
Jim is a Certified Physicians Assistant
specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. He earned a
bachelor's degree in biology from the UW-LaCrosse in 1992
and a Physicians Assistant Degree from UW-Madison in 1997.
He is a member of the American Academy of Physicians
Assistants and the Wisconsin Academy of Physician
Assistants. He joined the Rice Medical Center Staff in 1997.
He enjoys fishing, cycling, and cooking.
