Evaluation of Acute and Chronic Injuries

The UWSP Sports Medicine Clinic is open for the initial evaluation and treatment of injuries.  If you are injured at work, intramurals, club sports or during any physical activity we can evaluate your injury and help direct you in the right direction for follow-up care, whether that be to University Health Services or to an orthopedic surgeon.

Treatment and Rehabilitation of Orthopedic Injuries

The UWSP Sports Medicine Clinic also offers complete orthopedic rehabilitation of acute and chronic injuries.  On your first visit your athletic trainer will complete a comprehensive evaluation of your injuries.  An athletic trainer or physical therapist will then develop a treatment plan to assist you with your rehabilitation.  The athletic trainer or physical therapist may include one or more of the following to help you return to your normal activities:

  • Treatment with modalities such as ultrasound, heat, cold or electrical stimulation
  • Range of Motion Exercise
  • Manual Therapy Techniques
  • Therapeutic Exercise
  • Aquatic Exercise
  • Taping, Bracing or Splinting
  • Patient Education
