Academics

The School of Health, Exercise Science and Athletics (HESA) offers programs designed to teach individuals how to improve the quality of their own and others health, and offers experiences designed to promote quality health habits and knowledge.

Primary purposes are:
  • Educate professionals skilled in interpreting information, designing curriculum, and planning programs in Athletic Training, Physical Education, Adventure Education, Coaching, Health Education, and Adapted Physical Education

  • Teach students to responsibly participate in solving the national health care crisis by becoming accountable for their health choices and the impact of those choices on self, others, and the environment

  • Utilize physical activity to reduce risk of illness and injury and provide relaxation, socialization, and balance in their lives

  • Enhance creative use of leisure time

  • Become intelligent consumers of good healthy habits and information

  • Develop skills consistent with individual levels of human proficiency
