become leaders of tomorrow and achieve success through teamwork to
become the best they can be.
Curriculum Overview
The minor focuses on:
- Medical aspects of coaching
- Practicum in athletic coaching
- Theoretical and technical
aspects of coaching.
- Human growth and development
- Psycho-social aspects of
coaching
Benefits of UWSP
In completing the Wisconsin Department
of Public Instruction‘s approved program in coaching, one will have
completed all competencies necessary for coaching athletic teams in
public and parochial schools.
Job opportunities for coaches in
Wisconsin are far greater than what can be satisfied by certified
teacher/coaches. Thus, the coaching minor is an excellent choice for
students in non-teaching fields as well as future teachers.
