Artist's Narrative
This was a still life done with chalk pastels, working with laying pastels and using a workable fixative for building up layers of color. Susan Morrison set up this still life for our Basic Drawing II class. We were supposed to incorporate both types of color into our drawings. We looked at the artist Degas because he often used pastels in this way. I think my piece has that same impressionistic style, which I really enjoy working in.
