Artist's Narrative
The piece is a self portrait. The assignment was to tear paper and glue it onto a larger sheet to create a texture, design, etc. I used a brown paper bag and old drawings for this part. Blue is a color I am partial too, so I used it as my base. I didn't want to do a superficial drawing, in which I looked realistic; I wanted to show an emotion that worked well with blue. Interpret it for yourself.
