Matthew Bartley
is originally from Hartford, Wisconsin. He is a senior majoring in
Fisheries and Biology. He has a special interest in fisheries management
from a water quality perspective. Outside of academics, he is actively
involved with the UWSP Men�s Soccer Club. He plans to go on to graduate
school after graduating from UWSP in December of 2006. His faculty mentor
for this project was Dr. Isabelle Girard.
Andrew Bloeser
hails from Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He is a senior majoring in Political
Science and Communication, with a minor in Philosophy. He has a special
interest in media and think tanks as sources of policy entrepreneurs. His
extracurricular activities include being a student journalist, serving as
secretary to the UWSP chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, working as a Departmental
Research Assistant in the Political Science Department, and working as a
Research Assistant to Dr. Michelle Brophy-Baermann. He plans to graduate
in December of 2005. His faculty mentor for this project was Dr. Michelle
Brophy-Baerman.
Kay Christensen hails from Waupaca,
Wisconsin. She is a junior majoring in Fine Arts. Her specific academic
interest at this point is graphic design. She is a member of AIGA. She
plans to graduate in the spring semester of 2007. After graduation, she
would like to work for a magazine or design firm, but has not developed
any solid plans at this point. Her faculty mentor for this project was
Susan Morrison.
Seth Huebner is originally from Sheboygan, WI.
He graduated from UWSP in the spring of 2003 with a major in Philosophy
and a minor in Environmental Studies. While here, he developed special
interests in continental philosophy, critical theory, and environmental
ethics. He served as the budget director for ACT and also assisted the
exercise/events coordinator for Burrows Hall. He also served on the board
of the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education (WAEE) as a
student and then worked in their office for two years. He was able to give
a talk on feminism and environmentalism at the WAEE Winter Workshop. While
at UWSP, Mr. Huebner was awarded the University Leadership Award and the
Chancellor�s Award. He is planning on going to graduate school to study
continental philosophy with an emphasis in critical theory. His main
interest is the topic of �subjectivity.� He is currently working on some
additional essays and has started writing a novel.
Joshua Kamrowski
is originally from
Trempealeau, Wisconsin. He is a senior, majoring in Wildlife Ecology and
Management. He has a minor in Captive Wildlife Management. He is a
member of the Wildlife Society, the UWSP Fire Crew, the Izaak Walton
League, and the National Residence Hall Honorary. He also holds an
Assistant to the Director position in one of the residence halls on
campus. Mr. Kamrowski plans to graduate in December of 2005, after which
he hopes to pursue a career with a state or federal agency. His faculty
mentor for this project was Dr. Christopher Yahnke.
Kelly Luedke
comes from Iron Ridge, Wisconsin. She is a senior majoring in Biology,
with minors in Spanish and Chemistry. She has a special interest in
conservation biology and environmental studies. She is a member of the
Wildlife Society. She plans to graduate in May of 2005 and continue with
graduate school for Conservation Biology. Her faculty mentor for this
project was Dr. Isabelle Girard.
Kyle Marinoff
is originally from
Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is a sophomore majoring in Wildlife with a minor
in Biology. He has a special interest in working with large mammals
(ungulates). He is a member of the Wildlife Society. After he graduates
in 2007, he hopes to work as a wildlife biologist either in Alaska or on
the west coast. His faculty mentor for this project was Dr. Christopher
Yahnke.
Bijou Muhura is originally from the Democratic
Republic of Congo. She graduated from UWSP in December of 2003 with a
major in Business Administration and a minor in Information Technology.
Besides business administration, Ms. Muhura has special interests in
literature, the diversity of different cultures around the world, women�s
issues, and investments between different countries and continents. While
at UWSP, Ms. Muhura was the president of Women in Math and Computing and a
member of the International Club. She received the Math and Computing
Department Leadership Award and the Chancellor�s Leadership Award in
2003. Ms. Muhura is currently working at the Corporate Council on Africa
in Washington, DC. She will begin working on a master�s degree in public
policy within the next year. Her faculty mentors for this project were
Dr. John Coletta, Dr. Mark Balhorn, & Dr. Donald Fadner.
Abigail Nadler
grew up in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. She is a senior, majoring in
Health Promotion and Wellness, with minors in Occupational Safety, Health,
and Psychology. She has a special interest in positive healthy
behavior changes. She serves as a Tobacco Project Assistant on
campus. She plans to graduate in May of 2005. She would like
to work on positive behavior changes and life modifications with
individuals and small groups in a hospital setting. Her faculty
mentor for this project was Stan Brubaker.
Kimberly Riordan hails from Holmen,
Wisconsin. She is a junior, majoring in Art with a two-dimensional
emphasis. Her specific interests include honing her skills in painting,
printmaking, and bookmaking. Outside of academics she is involved in both
Tai Chi and Taekwondo. She plans to graduate in 2007 and hopes to go on
to graduate school somewhere in the Midwest. Her graduate work will
center around two-dimensional design. Her faculty mentor for this project
was Susan Morrison.
Courtney Stevens is originally from Waukesha,
Wisconsin. She is a junior majoring in Fine Arts with an emphasis in
two-dimensional design. She is a member of the Student Art League and the
Women�s Ultimate Frisbee Club. Following graduation from UWSP, she would
like to travel for a while to see what types of jobs she can get that will
take her to unexpected places. She is also considering attending graduate
school. Her faculty mentor for this project was Susan Morrison.
Casey Wilke
comes from Weyauwega,
Wisconsin. She is a senior majoring in Biology, with a minor in
Chemistry. She has a special interest in wild animal behavior and the
factors that impact such behavior. She is a member of the UWSP Wildlife
Society for which she leads the wolf tracking project and collects data for
the WDNR. She has also participated in the prairie chicken, wild bird,
deer telemetry, the Hawk Ridge trip, and the Annual National Wildlife
Society Conferences. Ms. Wilke plans to graduate in December of 2004 and
will be seeking a career in wildlife biology and/or pursuing graduate
school. Her faculty mentor for this project was Dr. Christopher Yahnke.
