Kate Hankins, Self Portrait Artist's Narrative This is a sort of self-portrait, done for a life drawing class with Susan Morrison. Our assignment was to zoom in on our lips and eyes, and draw them much larger than life in oil pastels. We looked at slides of Degas as a jumping off point. I decided to do my color mixing on the page in a very linear way, so that you can still see the individual colors used. I think it's impressionistic in that way.
