The purpose of this
section is to assist Academic Staff in staying informed on legislative
issues concerning the education of students, the institution, and Academic
Staff themselves.
As citizens of Wisconsin
and employees of the state of Wisconsin we have a responsibility to keep
informed and a right to communicate our concerns on legislative issues
which effect the education, health and well-being of students enrolled in
the university and the general public of Wisconsin. In this section we
will attempt, as time and resources permit, to provide information on
bills being considered and decisions made by governmental bodies and
agencies.
It is important to follow
university policy in the use of the work time and university owned
equipment when involved in political lobbying. You may want to
contact Tom Miller, UWSP Legislative
Liaison, located in News Services, to identify appropriate use of
university resources and effective ways to contact and lobby your
governmental representatives.
