Academic Staff Professional Development Grants

The Academic Staff Professional Development and Renewal Program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point provides an opportunity and source of support for increased effectiveness by expanding the knowledge of academic staff (all categories) in their areas of expertise. Support for this program is being provided jointly by the University of Wisconsin System Office of Academic Affairs and UW-Stevens Point. This program also addresses the need for refining and developing skills for renewal and for retraining of personnel within and across program units. Specifically, participating in professional development programs would assist academic staff in providing the following benefits to students and our institution:

  • Improved response to the changing needs and interests of students.
  • Development of expertise in new techniques and delivery systems based on changing technology.
  • Increased productivity through personal and professional renewal.
  • Contributions to institutional flexibility.

Due Dates for Academic Staff Professional Development grants are: October, February, or April.

Proposals for teaching improvement, curriculum, or general program development should be submitted under the Curriculum Development Grant program.
