Spirit of Comm. Service

The UWSP Academic Staff Spirit of Community Service Award stresses the importance of service in building and contributing to a healthier community environment on and off campus.  Awards will be provided to an academic staff member (Category A or C) for their contributions made in any of the following areas: mental, social, physical, emotional, intellectual, vocational, spiritual/philosophical, and/or environmental.

The current recipient of the Spirit of Community Service Award is Carol Schulz, College of Natural Resources, Executive Assistant to the Dean of the College of Natural Resources.  Carol has served UW-Stevens Point since 1992 and the area community since 1985. Nominators cite both her on-campus and off-campus commitment to the community.

► "She stays calm and caring in the face of controversy.  She helps to balance the range of perspectives from various people within the school district.  We have been very fortunate to have her serve as a board member in our district."
► "Carol's work philosophy is truly one of service.  Using her calm demeanor, organized and efficient approach to work, and excellent communication skills, she has volunteered for numerous committees and special projects that have benefited greatly from her involvement."
