Virtual Field Trip

Before You Begin

The field trip you are about to take investigates the altitudinal variation of vegetation and glacial geomorphology found in the Indian Peaks section of the Colorado Front Range. You'll be taking the field trip during the month of June, it's a bit more hospitable during the summer in this region. Take along a field journal (meaning your notebook) to enter the requested field observations or print off several ( 8 or 9) journal pages. Environmental data for temperature, wind speed, and insolation are typical June averages and were gathered from a variety of sources (Barry, 1973; Losleben, 1983; Olyphant, 1985). Analysis of the field data will be undertaken at the conclusion of the field trip.
