Left and below: Views of the dam and outcrops
The rock itself is fairly boring fine grained gray Penokean granite. Pink staining is visible along some joints.
This curving pool below the dam on the south bank appears to be the remains of a large pothole.
Left and below: chemical weathering
Smoothed and striated outcrop; whether by glaciers or running water is not clear.
Upstream from the dam is a large rtubble pile from an old quarrying operation.
View of the dam and dike from the rubble pile.
Lichens
This appears to be the remains of an old railroad bed leading to the quarry.
