Lake Titicaca, a name that is a source of endless amusement to countless prepubescent boys, is a real place. 12,500 feet above sea level. To get from Guaqui on the Bolivian side to Puno in Peru requires an overnight boat ride. Great, I thought, I get to be seasick two and a half miles above sea level. |
