Computer Mediated Communication
"the use of a computer/computer network to discover information
and share ideas."
Three modes of computer-mediated communication:
- Human-to-Human using a computer
- Electronic mail, live chat, etc.
- Human-to-computer for inforamtion maintenance and retrieval
- involves using computers to access, search, and retieve files from archival sources.
- Human-to-computer for process assistance.
- Involves using computers to facilitate instruction and learning. ("computer-based
instruction")
