Corinna L. Neeb

Hello, my name is Corinna Neeb. Over the past three years you may have seen me if you visited the Maurice Perret Map Center. In December, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and I will be the first graduate to receive the new Geoscience degree. This semester you may have seen me on the third floor of the Science building this is because I have the privilege of being the first student intern in the newly opened GIS Center.

Even though the Center just opened, we are already busy with projects. First, I have been working on a database of GIS certificates offered in the Midwest at both the technical college and university level. Secondly, I am working with a local clubs mapping out trails and other points of interest. Thirdly, we are busy developing an Open House activity for March 29, 2009 that will instruct the public in the difference between GIS and GPS. In addition, I am continuing to work closely with the City of Stevens Point Fire Department to assist in writing a grant in order for them to procure and implement first responder GIS software. Feel free to stop by the GIS Center office to see what other GIS projects are in the works…
