Preparing for Exercise 7
Midlatitude Weather
and
Weather Map Interpretation

Exercise 7, "Midlatitude Weather and Weather Map Interpretation" applies the the process of weather formation in the midlatitudes discussed during lecture to real world situations. You'll interpret the weather across the United States from weather maps and what likely caused them. You are responsible for all questions in this exercise.

Before coming to lab....

You should review your lecture notes for the "Air Mass and Fronts" and "Midlatitude Weather" lectures, and bring them to lab. Pay special attention to what determines the characteristics of air masses and the definitions of fronts. Make sure to read the introductory material for Exercise 7 noting how weather elements are depicted on a weather map. Don't forget to bring a calculator.
