The blue arrows suggest the movement of infiltrating groundwater near a magma body. As 
groundwater approaches the magma, it dissolves various trace elements that don't fit into
the normal silicate mineral structure.  The heat of the magma then causes groundwater to
rise toward the land surface and cool, which then causes trace elements to precipitate as
hydrothermal deposits.
