Exam
Basics
- Exams are
multiple choice and/or short answer format. Exam questions will come
from lectures, videos, guest speakers, assigned readings and in-class
discussion - anything presented or discussed in class is "fair
game" for the exams. There will be two mid-term exams and one final exam. They are of equal value, and the final exam is NOT cumulative.
- The use
of notes, index cards, books, etc. is not permitted during exams. Cell
phones, headphones and/or earphones must be out of sight. Please turn
cell phones off during exams out of courtesy to your classmates.
- You must
use your correct UWSP ID# and/or username when requested throughout
the semester. Each time you do not use the requested identification
or you do not complete your score sheet correctly you will lose 5% of
the total points offered.
- You are
expected to take exams during the scheduled exam period. No alternative
arrangements for taking exams will be made unless exceptional, properly
documented circumstances occur (e.g. valid medical reasons signed by
a medical professional).
- I suggest
you spend time making sure you can apply the concepts to other examples
- do not just memorize the material. I allow
students to decide which parts
of the class are worth more when determining grades.
- Look over readings
and videos as well as lecture notes. I suggest you make sure you understand
all graphs, maps and visuals presented. I also recommend that you do not
just memorize concepts - think about what the concepts mean and be able
to apply them to other circumstances.
