Purpose

to make you aware of population patterns in countries across the globe.
Your Mission

Go to www.census.gov. On the homepage, look for "people & households" - to the right of that, you should click on "Projections" - then, under "Related Topics" click on "International Demographic Data" - then in the center of the page, click on "Population Pyramids"

You will see a scroll box with an alphabetical list of countries across the globe. Choose one overdeveloped country, one underdeveloped country, and one country that is emerging from underdeveloped status. Create AgeSex Pyramid graphs of each - It is your choice as to whether or not you want to look at current years or future years. Whichever you choose, make sure you are consistent with all three countries. Download the images and paste them into a Microsoft Word document.

Now What?

Write a paper describing what you learned by looking at these 3 countries. What growth might you expect in the future based on the three graphs? Are there any anomalies in your graphs? Can you explain what may have caused them? What might be the future economic impact of the expected population growth in your three chosen countries?
