| We continue on our way and find ourselves crossing another boardwalk covered with snow. After we reach the end of the boardwalk, we realize we've left Michael behind (he must have been taking lots of notes on Site 4). So, we stop and wait, and take a picture while he catches up. | ![]() |

Moving on finds us crossing a third boardwalk! This is a sure sign that when the temperatures warm up, the ground here is fairly wet. |
| The wet areas on either side of this boardwalk have different looking vegetation than the areas surrounding the other boardwalks we've crossed. (For a summer view, click here.) We could stop and figure out what the vegetation is and why it's different, but our fingers are getting cold so we hurry on to stop number 5. | ![]() |

We cross Michigan Avenue, and on the other side is stop number 5. It looks like a stand of pine trees. To see this view in summer, click here. |
