This module addresses various aspects of alpine glacial landscape interpretation, including landform identification, geomorphic processes and glacial history. Glacier National Park, Montana, USA, provides the backdrop for this virtual field trip. The module uses photographs, topographic and geomorphic maps, volcanic ash, streamflow and other data to construct an understanding of the landscape traversed on the trip. Students answer interpretive questions, draw a topographic profile and keep a field journal while on the trip.
