Textbook companion website: There are some good practice tests and review questions here that are worth checking out. The web site will grade the quizzes for you, so you get instant feedback. Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage to where it says "Select a chapter". Select the chapter that you want to quiz yourself on and click on "begin". The bar on the left side of the new page has several options:
Objectives: this is the default page for each chapter and lists the chapter objectives. Concept Review: a multiple choice quiz testing you on basic facts. When you've finished the quiz, you can click on the "submit for a grade" button, which will grade your quiz. The results are not automatically sent to anyone, but you can send them to someone if you want. Please do NOT send them to me. This is just for you to see how well you know the material. Quick Review: a true-false quiz testing you on basic facts. This can be graded automatically. Thinking Spatially: a multiple choice quiz that requires more thought and interpretation of information. This can be automatically graded. Reviewing Concepts: essay questions. Not automatically graded. Critical Thinking: more essay questions. Not automatically graded. Destinations: links to related web sites. GeoSearch: a search engine.Group Tutoring: Group tutoring is available for everyone in the class. Tutoring meets once a week for an hour. There is a minimal fee ($10) for the entire semester. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to sign up for tutoring. It's a chance to hear explanations from someone else, a chance to work with other students in the class, and a chance to get some more help with improving your studying skills, your note-taking skills and your test-taking skills. Check out the details from the UWSP Tutoring Learning Center.
