      1. What are the five major biomes?
      2. Some biomes have more than one formation group. What are these formation groups?
      3. What climate types are associated with each of the five major biomes, and what climates are associated with the different formation groups of each biome?
      4. What are the main limiting factors in each biome or formation group?
      5. What soil orders are associated with each biome or formation group?
      6. What are the vegetation characteristics of each biome or formation group?
      7. Where are these biomes and formation groups located? Focus your attention on Africa and Europe, and North America.
      8. If you traveled from northern Europe due south to the equatorial region of Africa, how would the vegetation, soils and climate change? Why does the vegetation change in this manner?
      9. If you traveled from the Gulf Coast of North America north to Hudson Bay, how would the vegetation, soils and climate change? Why does the vegetation change in this manner?
      10. If you traveled from the east coast of the U.S. to the west coast of the U.S., how would the vegetation, soils and climate change? Why?
