SEVERE WEATHER WARNING SIGNALS
Severe Weather "WATCH": The authorities issue a watch when weather conditions in the area are such that the formation of tornadoes and/or severe thunderstorms is possible. No severe weather has actually been reported in the immediate area at this time. Persons should remain alert for possible danger.

Severe Weather "": The authorities issue a warning when confirmed severe weather IS approaching or HAS BEEN sighted in the immediate area. IMMEDIATELY seek shelter when the weather sirens sound [CAUTION: community sirens are generally inaudible inside of campus buildings, including residence halls].
Protective Services or designated UWSP personnel will notify you in the event a severe weather watch or warning is issued for the campus area. You are also encouraged to judge conditions and take appropriate action for yourself (see "Nature's Warning Signs"). Formal notification procedures include:
Keep listening: Your radio and television stations will broadcast the latest advisory information. In Stevens Point, tune to WYTE 96.7 FM, WSPT 97.9 FM, WSPO 1010 AM, and WWSP 89.9 FM (radio); WJLX 7 and WAOW 9 (TV). If you have a weather band radio, tune to 162.475 MHz for NOAA Green Bay. Please call local authorities or the National Weather Service only to report a sighting.
"All Clear" Signals
: At present there is no audible "all clear" signal on campus; therefore you should remain sheltered until Protective Services or designated UWSP personnel arrive to inform you in person that it is safe to leave. Numerous risks continue to exist after the apparent passage of severe weather, and large numbers of emerging people potentially can hamper rescue efforts.PLEASE HELP; COMPLY IMMEDIATELY WITH ANY REQUEST FROM PROTECTIVE SERVICES OR EMERGENCY RESPONSE PERSONNEL
