Route Tab FunctionsThe route tab is useful for multi-segment legs. From the control tab you start with a green marker, set your intermediate waypoints ("turn points") with yellow markers, and the stopping point in red. The software highlights and labels your route. Routes save as separate route files (.rtd) in the navigation subfolder. The Directions button provides the vectors of each leg of the route. The Exchange button allows you to download routes ("tracks") from GPS receivers. If you have a route you can create a profile of it by using the profile tab. This portrays the route as both map and side view, and a summary table of distances and slope steepness that is very useful in SAR work. You must have a route before you can create a profile.
