Grapevine Hills Area

From this campsite we will bushwack (no trail) 4 km northwestward tracing the KT boundary until we reach the Park Boundary. From there we will work eastward to locate three boundary monuments, then southward about four kilometers across Tornillo Creek alluvium back to camp. Once again, we will map geologic formation contacts as we encounter them.

Advisory: STAY TOGETHER; keep visible! This is very dry and sunny desert, even in winter. Sun protection (sunscreen, long sleeves, hat, and eyeshades), leg protection (boots, socks, and gaiters), THREE liters of liquids, and both a radio and flashlight with spare batteries are required for EVERY person on each hike.
