Rio Grande Village

roadrunner

While here we will fill water jugs (it is the last opportunity) before heading to the backcountry campsites.  There will also be opportunity for showers and a visit the nearby hot springs.  Post-911 border security no longer allows crossings into Boquillas del Carmen, Mexico.  Sorry.

  •  Note the prowler near the tent in the photo below.  The javalinas usually come in gangs, and they are extremely destructive trying to obtain any food that they smell.  There are also coyotes, roadrunners, and other wildlife in the campground.  KEEP FOOD IN VEHICLES, AND ALWAYS FLATTEN TENTS WHEN YOU ARE NOT NEAR OR IN THEM!  In this border area, always HAVE IDENTIFICATION with you.
