Michael J. Broton
Michael J. Broton is a Stevens Point native
who enrolled in the Geography Major, specializing in Cartography and
Geographic Information Systems (GIS), after serving four years in the
United States Marine Corps. While being a non-traditional full-time
student, father, husband, and part-time employee, Michael has attained a
commendable GPA within the major, served as treasurer for the GeoClub
and received a “Potential as a Geographer or Geoscientist Scholarship”
from the local chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon. He was also chosen by the
Geography and Geology Department to be a recipient of the College of
Letters and Science Academy award. He will be the first in his family to
receive a university degree and he seeks a career specializing in GIS.
