First-Year Experience

Erin Jensen
Year: Senior
Major/Minor: Broad-field Social Science Education Major, History and Spanish Minor
Hometown: Janesville, Wisconsin
Favorite campus activity: Intramurals (softball!) and the cultural events we have every year on campus and in the community (Hmong dinner, Soul Food dinner, Taste of India, Chinese Lantern Festival), and free sport events!
Favorite Sport to watch/play? I love to watch hockey and I am a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan!  I can ice skate but cannot play hockey to save my life! I also love to swim and run.
If you were to have a movie made about your life, which celebrity would play you? I think Jennifer Lawrence would play me because we kind of look alike (giving myself a lot of credit here) and I think we have similar  strange personalities. Also, who would not want Katniss Everdeen to portray you, right?
Favorite Book? Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
Best Advice you would give a first-year student at UWSP?  Relax, calm down, and just enjoy the time you have here. You have four, or if you’re lucky like me five, years to get involved, get good grades, and plan out your future. Yes, the time goes by fast but if you are too caught up in the little stresses that come with college you will miss out on the great things about your experience at UWSP.
Something a first-year student should do before they graduate? STUDY ABROAD!!! The UW-System has so many different opportunities for students to study in other countries. Travel debt is good debt!
