Possible Scholarship Amount Criteria For Eligibility
Kenneth W. Boylan Scholarship in Mathematics
$300, amount may vary

One scholarship is awarded to a Math major in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th semester.  A second scholarship is awarded to a Math major in  5th, 6th, or 7th semester.  Award is applied to Spring semester tuition.  Recipients are chosen by Math faculty based on applications from students.  Awards are applied to the following semester's tuition.

Joseph V. Collins Award
$200

Math major who graduated previous August or December, or who will  graduate in May.  Recipient is chosen by Math faculty in March.

Freshman Math Cooperative
$1,000 work study program in Math

Math League Standing, exhibited scholarship, character and leadership in  high school.  Recipient is chosen by Math faculty in February.

Bert Hutchinson Memorial  Scholarship
$500, amount may vary

Elementary  Education major with math minor who has completed Math 228 and 338, and who has completed or is enrolled in Math 359 or 369 or 355.  One scholarship is awarded in November and is applied to Spring semester tuition.  A second scholarship is awarded in March and is applied to Fall semester tuition.  Recipients are chosen by Math faculty based on applications received from students.

Charles H. Johnson Scholarship in Actuarial Mathematics
$400,  amount may vary

Junior or senior Math major with minimum 3.0 GPA and enrolled in or completed at least one actuarial seminar or passed at least one actuarial exam. Recipient is chosen by Math faculty in March based on applications from students.  Award is applied to Fall semester tuition.

Junior or senior Math major with minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum 3.4 GPA in Math major courses.  Recipient is chosen by Math faculty in March based on applications from students.  Award is applied to Fall semester tuition.

Sentry / Carl N. Jacobs Scholarship
$1000
Outstanding junior or senior mathematics major with a minimum GPA of 3.25.  Special consideration is given to students pursuing actuarial sciences in honor of Carl N. Jacobs.

Thalacker-Trytten Scholarship
Junior or senior chemistry, physics or mathematics major with minimum GPA of 3.0.  Student must be pursuing a career in teaching secondary education or intending to continue graduate studies in chemistry, physics or mathematics.

Howard Thoyre First Year Scholarship           
$500

Student must have participated in Central Wisconsin Math League, attend UWSP as a first-year student, and intend to pursue a major in Math.  Award is made at the Spring Math League Awards Banquet.

John F. Weiler Mathematics Award

Math major with minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum 3.4 GPA in Math major courses, preference to women or minority students.  Recipient is chosen by Math faculty in March based on applications from students.  Award is applied to Fall semester tuition.

Sentry Insurance Computer Information Systems Scholarship Sophomore or junior CIS major, minimum 3.0 GPA.  Recipients are chosen by CIS faculty in March based on applications from students.  Award is applied to Fall semester tuition.

Skyward Computer Information Systems Scholarships

Recipients must be from Central Wisconsin, have a cumulative GPA minimum of 3.0,  be in the top 20% of high school class, and demonstrate leadership and scholarship  abilities in school or in the community.  Applicants must be intended CIS majors and write a brief essay demonstrating their interest and objectives in pursuing a major  in CIS as part of the scholarship application.  Application forms are available at high school guidance offices throughout Central Wisconsin.  Recipients are chosen by CIS faculty in March based on applications from students.  Award is applied to Fall semester tuition.
