Possible Scholarship Amount Criteria For Eligibility
Academic Honor Award
$100
Graduating major with highest GPA in geography/geology courses. Must have earned a minimum of 18 geography and geology credits at UWSP.
Awarded: Spring
Raymond and Ellen Specht Cartography Scholarship
$3,000 amount may vary
Student must be a full-time approved UWSP geography major; have completed at least 12 UWSP geography credits; be a Geographic Information Science and Cartography option candidate; have demonstrated capacity and potential for excellence in the field of cartography; be enrolled for classes at UWSP the following semester, unless a graduation senior will will be attending graduate school to major in the field of geography with a specialization in cartography.

National Council for Geographic Education and Association of American Geographers
$50
Student who attains a high cumulative grade point average and geography grade point average and demonstrates potential for future scholarship.
Awarded: Spring
Gamma Theta Upsilon / Geography Club Academic Scholarship
$150
Student must be a declared geography major with two semesters left before graduation; a cumulative GPA of at least 3.33 with a geography GPA of 3.5; a minimum of nine credits in geography courses at UWSP, with at least three credits above the 100 level.

Gamma Theta Upsilon / Geography Club Potential as a Professional Geographer Scholarship
$150
Student must be a declared geography major with at least two semesters left before graduation; a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 with a geography GPA of 3.0; a minimum of nine credits of Geography courses at UWSP with at least three credits above the 100 level; student submission of a written essay of at least 250 words explaining why the student shows potential as a geographer and why the scholarship would be beneficial to the student and the Geography/Geology Department; participation in GTU/Geography Club events, meeting attendance and extra curricular activities for the Geography/Geology Department and GTU/Geography Club.  Other professional and university activities and hobbies related to geography also will be considered in the determination of the scholarship.

Writing Achievement Award

Student who has written the best paper for a geography or geology course.
