To support and promote liberal arts education throughout the UW Colleges and System. Open to students enrolled in the UW System. Completion of a minimum of 30 credits by the end of the Spring 2005 semester with at least one semester remaining as a full time student before graduating. Requires at least a 3.4 gpa. Application is a 1,000 -1.250 essay (double-spaced and type-written) discussing the importance of the Liberal Arts in the 21st century. Title page should show the title of the essay, student name, major, student number, local address, e-mail address and telephone number. Essay must be electronically sent to opid@uwsa.edu. Letters from two UW College instructors and a current transcript are part of the application materials and must also be submitted to the email address mentioned above.
