AREA OF CONCENTRATION IN BUSINESS
FOR BUSINESS MAJORS. The purpose of the area of concentration is to sharpen your communication skills. Cross cultural sensitivity will also enhance your chances for employment and success in the environment of international business. You may test-out of the second year level. With placement into 102 or above, you will receive credit for the lower level courses upon satisfactory completion (B- or above) of the course into which you were placed.

- four courses (no more than two from a single department):
- History 215, 216, 345, 346; Philosophy 105NW 338;
- Political Science 376; Religious Studies 100NW
FRENCH, GERMAN, SPANISH: 20 CREDITS
- 211, 212, 313, 314, 318, 317 or 340
RUSSIAN: 26 CREDITS
- 101, 102, 211, 215 or 216, 315 or 316, 381, and
- one 300-level Russian literature course
INTERNATIONAL STUDIES MAJOR/MINOR
Students majoring or minoring in International Studies take a general core of courses which will include:
- A. International Studies 101-International Studies (NW). 3 cr.
- B. Two of the following: Geography 113-World Regional Geography, Political Science 206-Introduction to Comparative Politics, or Anthropology 310-Cultures Around the World.
- C. A total of 21 credits (15 upper-division) divided between two regions of concentration for a major.
- D. Language Requirement for International Studies --
- Major - students must complete one foreign langauge course beyond the fourth semester (college level) of a language appropriate to the area of concentration (or test-out).
- Minor - test-out or complete 101-102 or 211.
INTERNATIONAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT MINOR
For College of Natural Resource majors, the minor consists of 22 credits. Other majors have an additional 9 credit requirement. The minor requires foreign language training in conjunction with courses in international resource management, geography, economics, and sociology or anthropology. Also included is one of the following: internship, international environmental seminar, or study abroad in a non-English speaking country.
INTERNATIONAL MERCHANDISE MANAGEMENT
This option within the fashion merchandising major offers students the opportunity to study abroad in a country of their choice, develop their language skills, enrich their cultural sensitivity and increase their professional expertise.
