Forestry Outreach Programs
Master Woodland Steward Program
Application Process
The Master Woodland Steward Program is designed for
woodland owners that have a management plan for their woodlands and
are actively involved in the management of their lands. The
program is designed to build on their practical everyday experiences
and help them to understand how and why things happened the way they
happened.
The Master Woodland Steward Program provides
participants with classroom instruction and hands-on learning
experiences as well as field trips that are designed to help you
learn and understand the concepts better. You can sign up to
participate in the entire program or only those seminars that are of
interest to you. Space is limited and preference will be given
to those interested in becoming Master Woodland Stewards.
We are currently in the process of scheduling the calendar for
2008. We plan to offer the entire series of Master Woodland
Steward Program seminars at UW - Stevens Point's
Schmeeckle
Reserve and
Treehaven field station. We will also be offering the
entire series of seminars as a four-day workshop in the Dodgeville
area in October. This program is always popular and fills up
quickly. We will also be offering a limited number of seminars
in partnership with the
Aldo Leopold Foundation's Woodland School and the
Seno Woodland
Education Center. We will be posting the calendar of
events shortly so keeping checking or contact
us and let us know you are interested and we will send you the
schedule as soon as it is out.
If you are interested in attending either one of
these workshops you can download a printer ready version of the
Master Woodland Steward program's application and mail it
