Steps To Applying for Financial Aid

Everyone must perform steps 1-4. The rest of the steps are fund specific.

1. Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

2. Receive and review the Student Aid Report (SAR).

3. Respond to all the requests from the Financial Aid Office.

4. Sign and return one copy of your award letter if you received paper notification, or if you received E-mail notification you may accept your award on-line.

5. If looking for work on campus, go to Student Involvement and Employment Office (SIEO) homepage. Both work-study and non-work-study jobs are listed.

6. If borrowing a Stafford Loan, complete the Stafford Master Promissory Note and the Entrance Loan Counseling if you have not done so previously.

7. If borrowing a Perkins Loan, complete the Perkins Master Promissory Note through the site e-mailed to you by the Perkins Loan Office.

8. If borrowing a PLUS (Parent Loan for Undergraduate Student) or alternative loan, inform the Financial Aid Office for certification purpose.

NOTE: Disbursement of funds to student accounts begins one week before school starts.
