This is your best first contact with the office. All general incoming telephone calls are answered here, all mail is opened here, and this is where students turn in forms and get their basic questions answered.
This is also where you can make appointments to see a counselor (if one is not immediately available)-- you don't need to come in to make an appointment; you can simply call in and handle that over the telephone (715-346-4771).
Outgoing financial aid transcripts are processed here for students transferring to another institution. Each year this station greets over 17,000 people and answers over 26,000 telephone calls-- pretty busy, wouldn't you say? That may be, but each and every one is important to us.
Who does all this work? The station is headed up by Carolee Iwanski, Receiving Counselor. She knows what parents and students are going through, having single-handedly raised two daughters, both of whom attended college. Knowledgeable, courteous, and wise, you'll feel very comfortable working with her. Greatest joy? Hard to beat grandchildren!
Carolee heads a workforce of student peer counselors that is second to none-- that's jargon for "They really know their stuff!" We feel very fortunate to have such a fine core of dedicated student assistants available to handle all the contacts that come in. Make a call to us or come on in, and we're sure you'll be impressed with the courteous and helpful manner in which you are assisted.
