Loan Eligibility and Other
Financial Assistance

• At UW-Stevens Point, financial aid applicants are offered financial assistance on a priority basis according to demonstrated financial need.

• The need calculation is based on a strict Federal formula.

• Students with the highest needs are first awarded grants followed by work—then loans.

• If a students is awarded other outside resources after a loan has been offered, the original loan offer (and possibly other aid) may need to be reduced.
