Graduate Students
Key Things To Know
As soon as a student receives a first bachelor’s degree, they are no longer eligible for federal or state grants.
A student must be admitted to UWSP as a graduate student and also admitted to a specific graduate degree program before being awarded financial aid. (See the Admissions Page on
Graduate Students
for more information).
If enrolled at least half-time, a graduate student will be considered for work-study, Perkins loans and Direct Loans, when aided.

9+ credits full-time; 5 credits half-time
Summer
5 credits full-time; 3 credits half-time
Every student should inform the financial aid office of financial help they are receiving from any outside resource and/or their department.
Should a graduate student need additional assistance than what is offered, they may apply for the
Graduate PLUS Direct Loan
