Call for Nominations Extension, Faculty Governance

The faculty governance call for nominations is being extended for some positions with insufficient nominations to fill open positions for the spring 2014 faculty governance ballot.  Attached is an updated nomination form.  This updated nomination form includes only those areas yet in need of nominations; all other positions are considered closed for nominations.  Following is a listing of positions in need of additional nominees:  (In parenthesis is the term for positions.  For positions showing one and two-year terms, members’ terms will be determined by votes cast in the election; the term may be one or two years depending upon voting.)

 
·         Faculty Senators representing:
o   College of Fine Arts and Communication  (one and two-year terms)
o   College of Letters and Science (two-year term)
o   College of Professional Studies (two-year term)
o   Unassigned (one and two-year terms)
 
·         Academic Staff Council member (two-year term)…FYI, representation for “Classroom Teaching” category representation is needed.
 
·         Constitution and Handbook Revision Subcommittee Chairperson (one-year term)
 
·         Academic Staff Mediation Subcommittee members (two-year term)
 
·         Assessment Subcommittee members representing “unassigned to a college” category (one-year term)
 
·         Faculty Mediation Subcommittee members representing:
o   College of Fine Arts and Communication (two-year term)
o   College of Letters and Science (two-year term)
o   College of Professional Studies (two-year term)
 
·         General Education Committee member representing “Written and Oral Communication” (two-year term)
 
·         Graduate Council members representing:
o   College of Fine Arts and Communication (two-year term)
o   College of Professional Studies (one-year term)
 
·         Information Technology Council member representing the “College of Letters and Science (Social Sciences/Humanities/History)” (two-year term)
 
·         University Awards Subcommittee member representing the “College of Fine Arts and Communication” (two-year term)
 
·         University Personnel Development Committee member representing the “College of Letters and Science (Natural Science/Mathematics/Computing)” (two-year term)
 
The deadline for submitting nominations for these remaining positions is Friday, April 4, 2014.  Completed and signed nominations forms should be forwarded to the Faculty Senate Office no later than April 4, 2014 (Old Main, Room 118 or nsimon@uwsp.edu for PDF).

Just a reminder, per the Constitution of the Faculty Senate, Article I, Section 1, for purposes of institutional governance, the faculty is defined as persons holding at least 50% FTE faculty or academic staff appointments.
