On Campus Housing

With very limited exceptions, all ESL Program students are required to live in university residence halls (dormitories).

Living on campus has many advantages and is proven to enhance students' success at UWSP. Our residence halls are staffed by professional Hall Directors as well as student Community Assistants. Regular academic and co-curricular programming in the residence halls make them educational and fun places to live while studying at UWSP.

UWSP's residence halls are convenient to classes and offer a number of living options. Shared rooms (“doubles”) are the most common and the least-costly choice. A limited number of private (“single”) rooms are available to returning students. Rooms and baths are single sex, though common areas (study lounges, kitchens, and recreational areas) may be shared by male and female students alike.

All residence hall rooms are furnished with single beds, dressers, study desks, bookcases, desk chairs and closets. Students are responsible for providing their own bed linens and towels. High speed internet access and cable television are provided in each room.

Students who live on campus are required to purchase their meals from university food service. You will be invited to review the plans and make your choice during the ESL Program Orientation.

You may be eligible to live off-campus if:

(1) you are 21 years of age or older;

(2) you graduated from high school more than 2 years before your arrival at UWSP;

(3) you are married and traveling with your spouse;

(4) you are traveling with your children; or

(5) you are living with your parent/legal guardian and commuting from a distance of 40 miles or less

Eligibility for a release from the on-campus living requirement is determined on a case-by-case basis by the UWSP Office of Residential Living. Please schedule an appointment with the UWSP Office of Residential Living to discuss your eligibility.
