Position:
Assistant Professor in Accounting
Position Description:
Teach introductory and upper division accounting courses in two or
three areas of interest. UWSP’s expectation for retention and tenure
includes excellent teaching, engaging in scholarship, active service, promoting
and contributing to the accounting profession, and professional development.
Department/University Description:
The Division of Business and Economics has 18 full-time faculty positions
and 700 majors in Business Administration, Managerial Accounting and Economics.
The Managerial Accounting major prepares students to secure responsible
positions in the accounting field and achieve Certified Management Accountant
(CMA) and other professional certifications. The University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point is a leading comprehensive four-year liberal arts
institution located in scenic Central Wisconsin. It has consistently been named
one of the top public mid-western universities in U.S. News and World Report’s
college rankings.
Qualifications:
Seeking AACSB academically or professionally qualified faculty. Prefer
AACSB Ph.D./D.B.A. in accounting. Also prefer CMA, CPA or equivalent in good
standing. Minimum qualification: AACSB M.Acc. or equivalent. Related teaching
and applied accounting experience a plus.
Appointment Date:
August 2008, or negotiated date.
Terms of Employment:
This is an Assistant Professor, tenure track position. Salary is
dependent on education and experience.
