Position:
Artist/Teacher of Trumpet

Position Description:
The position will include teaching applied trumpet.  Depending on qualifications of the candidate, other duties could include teaching courses in instrumental music education, conducting, music history, music theory, and/or jazz studies.

Department/University Description:
The Music Department is housed in the newly constructed Noel Fine Arts Center on the UWSP campus.  The department has 18 full time and 6 part time faculty.  The department has a strong commitment to music education, with a full array of performing ensembles (bands, orchestras, choirs, opera workshop, chamber music), and majors in music education, performance, jazz studies, music literature and a bachelor of arts option as well as Master’s degrees in music education.  Please visit the department web site for more information: http://www.uwsp.edu/music  

Qualifications:
Master’s degree required; a doctorate is preferred.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced performer in classical and jazz idioms.  A strong commitment to music education is essential.  Elementary/secondary teaching experience is an asset.

Assistant Professor, Tenure Track
