Position:
Artist/Teacher of Flute
Position Description:
The position will include teaching applied flute. Depending on
qualifications of the candidate, other duties could include teaching courses in
instrumental music education, conducting, music history, and/or music theory.
Department/University Description:
The Music Department is housed in the newly constructed Noel Fine Arts
Center on the UWSP campus. The department has 18 full time and 6 part time
faculty. The department has a strong commitment to music education, with a full
array of performing ensembles (bands, orchestras, choirs, opera workshop,
chamber music), and majors in music education, performance, jazz studies, music
literature and a bachelor of arts option as well as Master’s degrees in music

Qualifications:
Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred. The successful
candidate will be a strong performer and a proven teacher. A strong commitment
to music education is essential. Elementary/secondary teaching experience is an
asset.
